Cleaning Cleaning Cleaning

Well its spring cleaning time again, inside and out and ugh!! Where to start. Getting ready for the baby means even more than normal. On th eupside, we got a great little carpet shampooer that also cleans the tile floors. Really slick and does a great job. Maybe too good a job, after 4 passes the carpet in the basement still rinses dirty water. Maybe after another 5 passes it will finally be clean.

I love MythTV!!! It took me a while to get the thing working, but it is incredible. I can see what all the fuss is about Tivo. Its great. I can records shows I want to see, I don't feel like I have to watch them when they are on. I can skip the commercials (even auto skip them which as far as I am concerned is just magick). Plus, I can burn the shows I really want to DVD for safekeeping (for my own use of course). This is the coolest thing since sliced toast.... the internet... driving... anything.

Did I mention that I can access all my music as well.... and since my tv is hooked up to the stereo I can now play my music from my computer on the stereo!!

AWESOME!!!

From the department of "Duhh", researchers at Children's hospotal in Boston have discovered that eliminating sugary drink can cause children to lose weight.... what... oh my god, are you saying that by decreasing the number of calories we eat, we can decrease our weight. My goodness, I can't believe anyone else ever thoguht of that. Not to put all of this just on Children's Hospital I am amazed at the amount of "research" that validates things that are so obviuous. In marketing news, if you target your customers better based on their past behavior you can get better results. DUHH.

Smoked Pork

Success!! I finally got this smoked pork thing down... or at least further than last time. The last time I smoked this piece, my smoker was way too cool so it barely even cooked. This time, after some research and detective work I discovered the problem and adjusted and it looks great. Can't wait till dinner!!!

Curling is cool... Who Knew?

Wow.. curling... I never knew it was so adictive. I've seen it before, but never really watched it. Those people take that stuff very seriously.

Ok.. you know how sometime...

Sometime when you start working on one project and then it takes you off onto another tangent. Well that the case here. While cleaning up the basement, I spent some time trying to get the toilet down there to work right.. you see it doesn’t fluch well. So I tried soaking the jets to clean them out but to no avail. Since we’ve been talking about replacing the toilet and sink down there I decided to go ahead and do it. Got it partially done.. got the sink and toilet out and the new toilet in. Gonna take some extra work to get the sink installed.. but now I have packing boxes from the new toilet and sink all over the basement plus all the old sink and toilets… well.. just keep at it I guess.

Getting it done

Well, we’ve been moving things around a lot trying to get the nursery ready for the baby (in July) and so everything is getting dumped into the basement. Boxes, containers, books everything that needed to come out of that room and come out of Angela’s room so she could move her office into there. Needless to say the basement is a disaster. You;d think that not having a job would mean I could spend lots of time cleaning the house but you’d be wrong…. way wrong.

Well, now that the cat has peed in one of my boxes… apparently he wants the basement cleaned up as well.. I am going to make it my goal to get it done… NOW!!

Damn

Well another rejection. I can't believe it. How many times can you interview for a job and then get turned down. I wish they could tell you why they didn't choose you!! Its so frustrating. I gotta find a job.

Just Waiting

Well, another day down, just sitting and waiting for the phone to ring. And its my official first day of unemployment. Damn I thought for sure I would have a job well before my severance ran out. I guess that's what you get for pinning your hopes on a few hot leads and not keeping all your irons in the fire.

New Web Site

Drill Bits of Randomness: Well, after fighting with my webstire for a while now I have decided to complete switch it from PHP-Nuke (over-kill) to strictly blog. Still trying to do a few interesting things with it, using seperate blogs for different area and managing some additional pages by striping the blog template and using it in PHP.
